showstoppers

Showstoppers (previously the Opera Group) was created in 1967 by FMTC President, Bob Stannard.

Originally set up for lovers of grand opera it now provides an opportunity for members who just enjoy a 'good sing'. Rehearsals commence in early June and then run each Monday evening through to the performance of a series of concerts in the Frome Assembly Rooms in late October/early November.

The beauty of this group is that members are able to maintain the use of their scores thereby not having to learn everything. This suits many members who having enjoyed a lifetime on stage now just want the opportunity of maintaining singing as their hobby without the pressures of learning lines and music.

The group is open to members of all ages but tends to attract the more mature members of the group and the material chosen reflects this.
